February 2nd passed like any other Tuesday would. I put in a good day at the office, then took my wife out to dinner and a movie. Is Groundhog Day going the way of the buffalo? I never saw it mentioned on Fox News, CNN, or Yahoo (three homepages that should typically report on such important news) and never saw one mention of it on Facebook, Twitter, or Linked In. No one that I follow blogged about it. Looks like the PETA-kooks may get their way after all and Phil will have to forage for himself and fend off predators rather than getting his three squares in peace, comfort and safety.
My wife and I don’t wear homemade hemp sandals, or consult the stars to see what the future holds; but we do pay attention to what the Farmer’s Almanac has to say about the upcoming seasons and weather. We’ve yet to be let down by the mysterious voodoo that is the Farmer’s Almanac. When they forecast a long, cold winter, we prepared (as did the mice living in our duplex, but that’s another story).
For those of you who, like me, missed Groundhog Day, that portly little rodent saw his shadow; which means we’re staring at six more weeks of cold weather, snow, ice and smoking in parkas, earmuffs, and hats with numb fingers.
Lately I have enjoyed the Alec Bradley Family Blend, an offering from Alec Bradley and ranked #16 in Cigar Aficionado’s top 25 cigars of 2009. The cigar is impeccably put together and is beautiful to look at. The draw throughout was fantastic, the burn even, and the flavor consistent through the entire cigar. HIGH RECOMMENDATION on the Alec Bradley Family Blend.
Planning to try out another Alec Bradley cigar this week.
